My Favorite Toy Shop - Nova Fontana

This is my favorite toy shop. None other than Nova Fontana. Long before Toy Kingdom and Toys R Us, it was here where all my (along with countless others) childhood toys from the 80's started. This is the Greenhills Shoppesville branch which i frequented every Saturdays along with my brother. Name the 80s or 90s toy and they have it. RCs, RPGs, GI Joe, Transformers, Dinoriders, COPS, MASK, Thundercats, Gobots, My Little Pony, Barbie, Japanese and Taiwan robots and figures, Visionaries and the list goes on and on.

How i miss the facade. It was breathtaking for me going thru the glass displays even when i can't buy anything haha. Just seeing what's new every weekend made me drool.

Thanks for sharing them pics! I'm from Pangasinan and am 37 years old now. While I've only visited the Nova Fontana Greenhills branch for the first time back in summer of 1994 ( my college days ), their branch that I frequented visiting was the one in Ali Mall back in the 80's whenever we visited Manila (since my Aunt's house is in Proj. 2 Q.C. which was nearer). Lego had always been my favorite toy growing up but I remember having visited and buying toys from Nova Fontana too back in the 80's - among them - The Flash and Hawkman from DC Comic's Super Powers toyline as well as The Falcon from Marvel Comics Secret Wars action figures from 1983 - 1984, a pair of Generation 1 autobots - Prowl and Hound from the Transformers back in Christmas of 1985 and 1986 respectively, The Phantom and his Skull Copter from the mid-80's Defenders of the Earth animated series sometime 1986, that Firecracker pick-up truck from the M.A.S.K cartoon around April of 1987, another pair of action figures - Hotwing and Moonstryker from the 80's animated series SilverHawks sometime late '88. I believe the last time I visited the Ali Mall branch was around 1989 when I bought a Jake Rockwell action figure from the 80's animated series The Centurions. Right now, I'm a parent of two kids and busy with a dental practice. In retrospect, I wish toys nowadays cost only just as much back then ( I think a single action figure nowadays costs P650 on the average compared to the P120 price tag back then! ) Talagang mas masarap maglaro 'nung bata ka pa! Anyhow, thanks again for sharing them pics and a quick stroll down memory lane. (",)
